Ways To Style Your Home That Will Make You Lose Your Deposit

Easy ways to personally brand your home.

There's a sense of peace that holds on to me throughout my day when I wake up in a room that is filled with my traits. Either if your personal style is quirky or traditional, it cultivates your mind and sense of being. If you're looking for ideas to enhance your home with interior fixtures that make up who you are- you're in the right place.

Entrance

Growing up with a parent who was a germaphobe, I have adapted the concept of having to remove and place my shoes by the door- or else the dirt from outside will find its way into my bed.

There's no better way to combat that than with shoe cabinet.

I love the idea of having a bench with the shoe-compartment underneath, it gives an easy experience for guests to switch into socks. It's always a bonus to have some complimentary slides for them to use by the entrance.

It's customary to have a clothing wrack by the door, just because it allows for the room not to feel too hectic with coats laying around if you're hosting a party or during the winter season.

Another style I found online for this concept which stuck out to me was having the heels displayed by the entrance like a work of art:

This reminded me of the saying:

"There's an awful lot you could tell about a person by their shoes, where they're going, where they've been."

As much as I loved this, I know it isn't practical for many- me included, since 90% of my shoes are flats. But this just excites me to live in my Carrie Bradshaw era and spend all my money on shoes.

It's giving gallery.

Kitchen

My cooking space is where I get the most creative. Although I'm admittedly not the best cook, having a place where you feel inspired to play around with different recipes is crucial.

Displaying your produce gives a warmth to the kitchen and makes the area feel so alive. When I saw the photo of the fruits hanging in the net, it felt so humbling and cozy. Usually I store all my vegetables and fruits together, but the separation in this is a lot more sleek. And gives you a better idea of the ingredients you have to work with.

For those who are appealed more to the tray, what brings in your touch- is the material of it. Some are iron, other are marble and many I have seen are wood. A new storing habit I'd like to follow is keeping the produce separated, so think of buying two that compliment each other.

I would not be able to function without a warm drink in the morning. Either if its an Americano, Tea or Latte. I find it crucial for each home to have one designated area for their beverage of choice.

When I saw this set up, I instantly knew I had to include it in this article.

Having all of your necessities in one area makes life easier, either if it's your matcha or tea bags.

If you're limited by space and storage- I find having a drawer-based table ideal to manage all your stuff.

Speaking of beverages, I'm not much of a mixologist when it comes to alcohol. Regardless, there are some bottles I have that serve as a form of memorbilia that I would love to display in my next place.

In a form of showcasing my bottles, I loved this idea of hanging them on the side of the wall, minimizing the space and again displaying personal touches.

Or if you carry a bit of fear of the bottle's weight just slide out of place-

there is some other forms in which you can display the bottles and glasses.

Dining/ Living Space

Another factor I find crucial to brighten any room is plants. I love adding any additional life form to the kitchen, salon, bathroom. Being able to spot and adore flowers in every room is a fun add-on. For a more masculine appeal you can focus on more leafy greens.

Another cozy style to it is utilizing left over wine bottles as vases for singular flowers which can be adorned by the window.

When bringing in a warm feel to a room, I find carpet layering crucial. It really brings a room together, and my favorite form of doing so is with one large bland base and over it a vibrant contrast, such as a Persian Carpet.

In order to give off the illusion of a larger room, it's no secret that white or lighter tones expand the size of a room. But to keep the room from appearing dull there are ways to approach this.

I love bland wallpaper. And although I'm choosing to use a word such as "bland" to describe this, I do so unapologetically and heavily. The more crowded a design is- the more overwhelming the space is.

It's typical for living rooms to carry a television, but if you're anything like me: I'm not a fan of having a giant screen in the middle of a room where people are suppose to be conversing or reading. I feel like we have enough screen interference in our daily lives that being in your living room, should feel more like a sanctuary.

And my definition to this word is without a blue light exposure.

That being said I believe, personal to me and like-minded people, having a projector is the best way to combat that.

That goes with an added bonus for the bland walls. It takes minimal space, isn't as intrusive and additionally allows you to enjoy the room for what it is.

Bedroom

Starting off with the bedroom strong, I love the idea of claiming a space. The following applies to any room. Have a door frame design that is unique and creates a more visible inhabitant-like essence to the space. Not to mention the many ways you can be creative and add your own personal twist to it.

If you're searching for ways to implement a mirror without it seeming basic- I've got the solution.

I find this to be such a great idea. You can buy the the Mirror Tiles on Amazon for less than $25- it's thrifty and versatile. A little DIY activity for a Sunday Morning.

Bathroom

Although bathrooms are meant to be used for such brief moments compared to the rest of the house, there is no reason to leave them empty. Adding art to the room, gives it much more personality than what is expected of them.

Adding art to the room, gives it much more personality than what is expected of them.

Again, you can tell that a repeated theme to this article is: Tiles.

I loved this image as a demonstation specifically because you don't have the overfill the entire wall it.

Adding just those four tiles highlights the sink and isn't as much work.

Another idea would be to have thinner tiles and design just a few over each other. Each line of tiles coherent yet different than the other.

For the rest of the space, there is no reason to keep it empty, unless you're intentionally going for the sleek/ clean look. Given my earlier argument against screens, It's evident that I like have something to look at while I'm in there- that isn't digital (such as a phone) and bringing back magazines into restroom no longer feels sanitary nor of this generation.

You can framed experiences, printed or personally drawn art.

I love the thought of adding some stranger photos I have saved in my album, it can be a good conversation starter for guests coming out of the room. It shows you put attention into even the smallest details of a room. And it's not as common to see printed photos anymore that aren't displayed on instagram.

I'd have fun with the space, filling it to the rim with some of my favorite photographs, it gives people a better outlook on who you are.

For bathrooms that require shower curtains, a fun little twist is defining that space as your sanctuary with actual curtains. Who said that shower curtains have to be made of plastics?

Maybe on the inside of the shower you can add that layer to keep the water from coming out- but be decorative with how you style it on the outside.

The sweetest part about having a space to decorate as you please is to be able to surround yourself with your personal taste. There is no place meant to nurture your inspirations and comfort more than home. It's the spot where you invite people to see different sides to your character, style and experiences.

The following list of interior features is made to inspire more ways to exhibit your personality- and could make interesting conversation starters.
